Autism spectrum disorders are lifelong developmental disabilities that affect the way a person communicates and relates to people around them.
Problems with social interaction, odd and unusual behaviours and high rates of co-morbid mental health problems mean that people with autism spectrum disorders are likely to be seen by mental health services.
The workshop will provide an overview of the current evidence on causes, signs and symptoms, screening and diagnosis. It also describes treatment and management approaches and service provision for people with autism spectrum disorders.
