The workshop has some experiential components and asks clinicians to look at their own responses to this client group. The workshop draws on a wide range of theoretical models. On completion of the workshop participants will have: • an increased understanding of BPD in the context of their history and to be able to use this understanding to guide appropriate treatment interventions • an increased understanding of the relevant medico-legal and duty of care issues including therapeutic treatment and management of risk • an increased understanding of the importance of the therapeutic relationship as part of the major treatment for clients with BPD
