ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Workshop

The ASIST workshop is a highly participative two days of training that takes attendees beyond suicide awareness and helps them develop skills in how to recognise and respond to a person at risk, linking them to further help. This training is the Living Works ASIST suicide intervention model, one of the most widely used suicide intervention training programs in the world.

ASIST training can be difficult for some who have lived experience of suicide thoughts or behaviour.  It is not compulsory, but there is opportunity for participants to discuss their experience of suicide (personal or others) and the positive things learned.  This could be upsetting for some participants.  Please consider this before registering for this training.  Those who are concerned about their own or others thoughts of suicide should contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Date Wed 08-May-2019
Location Box Hill
Presenter Hennie Lanting, St Vincent's and Gavin Foster, Eastern Health
